Our Approach to New Hire Training

With each new hire, you have a limited opportunity to create a good first impression – the very first day on the job and, subsequently, the following 90 days. If you do not take advantage of this opportunity when the new hire arrives on the job energized and motivated to learn, you will never have another opportunity like this again.

Our approach to training inherently supports on-boarding initiatives for first-time hires or employees transitioning into a new job within your organization:

The On-Boarding Goal The TIS Solution
Increase the speed it takes for new hires to become productive and efficient at their jobs. Minimize the learning curve. With our approach, your new employees are immediately provided training in critical performance areas. Because the training materials are readily available online, a new hire can begin work immediately to absorb information necessary for success in their new job. They will not have to wait for a class to form or an instructor to become available in order to begin learning.
Set performance expectations and avoid misunderstandings. The TIS instructional design spells out the performance expectations for your employees. Each Checkpoint meetings is pre-scheduled and keep them on track for success. Their assignments are clear for each Checkpoint and for their final Certification. The Checkpoints and final Certification require them to explain, discuss and demonstrate their newly learned skills, techniques and knowledge.
Help the employee feel valued. Providing a comprehensive training program for each employee indicates they are valued and that their success is important. Training off of the side of another employee’s or manager’s desk when they can find the time shows less respect for that new employee’s time. TIS can work with you to create a structured training program that supports and values each employee.
Reduce employee anxiety. Anxiety is often the result of “the unknown”. A TIS training program lays it all out there. The process is straightforward and the expectations are spelled out. All questions, activities and deliverables are outlined in the beginning of each Checkpoint, so there are no “unknowns” or “surprises”. The energy a Learner might other spend worrying, can be put into learning.
Improve employee retention. Success improves retention and we design our training programs to help your motivated employees succeed.

In addition, the assessment and support provided throughout the training keep the new hire on track and has been found to be a motivating and differentiating factor in their decision to join a company and remain with that company longer.

Allow the employee to understand the company’s values and priorities early in their career. A customized TIS training program can weave your company’s values throughout the course, exposing your employees to your company values often. Your priorities and expectations will be readily evident in the content and layout of your course.
